For years, academic or field researchers have been using card index boxes to keep track of the hundreds of research articles or books they have amassed through their career. However, this is a time consuming and somewhat old fashioned way of doing things.

MyResearchResources.co.uk is an online tool for this. All you do is enter the reference of the resource, the location in which it is stored, and key words relating to the article. Then next time you are looking for articles, you just type in what you are looking for (I use the key word search most frequently), and this database produces a list of all the relevant resources you have. It is such a quick and easy way to find out what resources you already have for something before you start a wider search for extra information if needed.
